Just a kiss | Midorima Shintarou

Midorima rarely shows affection. He feels it’s better to keep it within confined walls, the private comfort of his or your room. So the few times he wanted to actually show his affection towards you in public were very rare and special.

However, one of those times had to fall when you had a cold sore.

Winter was horrible for you, because although you loved the cold, you hated dealing with stuffy noses, cold sores and sore throats. 

Midorima didn’t seem to understand this.

“No. You cannot kiss me right now!”

He looked at you, an eyebrow raised as he stared down at you, irritation within his green eyes.

“And why can’t I, nanodayo?”

Huffing, you felt your face flush as you had to try and explain to your boyfriend the reasoning behind your denial. Coughing into your hand, you let out a sigh,

“Because I said no. Do I need to have a reason?”

Pushing his glasses up, he muttered, “Considering you’re the one who always begs for kisses, I find it extremely weird you’re denying one.” He paused, taking in your expression before releasing a sigh, “I only wanted to kiss you on the cheek. Is that asking too much?”

Rubbing your head, you looked at Midorima, trying to read his expression. It didn’t look like he was up to something, but you still couldn’t shake the suspicious feeling you had. Releasing a sigh, you pointed at your cheek, the side which didn’t have the cold sore.

“You can kiss me right here. But that’s it.”

Rolling his eyes, he wrapped a hand around your head, pulling you close to his lips. Gently, he pecked your cheek, his kiss lingering longer than usual, causing your cheeks to flare up. You turned your head to face him, which was a big mistake, as he unexpectedly caught your lips with his, causing your eyes to widen.

It lasted for a brief moment before he pulled back, an arrogant smirk on his lips while you covered yours with a hand, slightly mortified. Pushing up his glasses, he smugly whispered,

“Today you’re not supposed to trust what Cancers say.”

Rolling your eyes, you couldn’t help but sigh as you looked away, face completely red,

“… I should’ve known.”
